Gill Fone and Milly
Gill, with Milly

I’m Gill Fone, owner of Gill-I-Am.

Originally selling picture frames under the banner of The Frame Workshop I then diversified into the Craft Industry with a product called Friendly Plastic and trading as Molten Designs.

As with all things involving Craft you cannot avoid experimenting with other materials so that led me down the path of Mixed Media and then Needlefelting.  I now trade under the name of Gill-I-Am as it gives me the flexibility to follow different paths as I experiment with crafts and effects.  I used to attend various exhibitions up and down the country demonstrating needle felting but now I am purely internet.  I pride myself on being a small business that cares about the service I give to my customers.

I have been very please recently to be able to introduce the Jean Greenhowe range of publications.  Following the sad passing of Jean I was given permission by her family to reprint the Jean Greenhowe booklets.   All the booklets I stock are new – I do not entertain photocopies as obviously the publications are protected by copyright.

I try to despatch all orders on the day they are received, or next day at the latest, and if there is a problem we will let you know immediately.

My right hand person is Sonia who has worked for me for several years and controls the day to day assembly of the kits and packs and the general running of the business.  Andra also play a significant part and I rely on her to help with the despatch of the orders, especially if I am away for any reason (hopefully holidays!).

We are always here to help with advice and to answer your questions and if we don’t know the answer we will be honest and say so.   Whilst I now have a very good practical background with needle felting I cannot know everything!    We all learn more every day.
